Season highlights and race recaps from the Edinburgh Bike Fitting RT.
Cold, wet conditions greeted the field for the 2024 Scottish Nationals. Despite the challenging weather, the team put in a strong performance with securing a top-10 finish in the elite men's race. The 120km course featured punishing climbs and technical descents, testing both fitness and bike handling throughout the day. Team tactics worked perfectly in the opening laps before the race fragmented on the final climb.
Stage 2 delivered everything we hoped for: attacking racing through stunning Borders countryside. The 85km stage featured several categorized climbs, with the team controlling the pace on the main ascents. A late breakaway formed with 15km to go, and our strategy of staying near the front paid dividends as we navigated the technical finish into Kelso. Solid team effort across the board with everyone finishing safely in the main group.
Home race atmosphere was electric as we lined up for 60 minutes of fast and technical criterium racing through Edinburgh's historic streets. The tight corners and cobbled sections kept everyone on high alert. Team cohesion was excellent throughout, with strong positioning in the final laps setting up multiple opportunities for the sprint. The crowd support was incredible—nothing beats racing on home roads with local fans cheering you on.
